Ragi Rava Roasted
Uppuma is a regular delicacy on the breakfast table. Celiac is a disease which damages the small intestine and interferes the absorption of nutrients from food. People who suffer from this disease cannot tolerate gluten. Ragi is a perfect food for them, since it is completely gluten-free. Ragi increases insulin sensitivity for people suffering with diabetes and also helps to control the sugar levels for non-diabetics (especially type2 diabetes). Thus, regular consumption of Ragi can decrease fasting glucose by 32 % and can eliminate insulin resistance by 43%. Hence Ragi is highly beneficial for diabetic patients.
Preparation Method:
Take a thick bottom pan and heat some oil, add 1tsp of mustard and 1tsp of black gram. Add ½ cup of chopped onion, chopped ginger, green chillies and few curry leaves, sauté till golden brown. Add chopped carrot. Pour 3 cups (600ml) of water, salt and 1tsp of ghee to the liquid and boil it. Add 1 cup (200g) JEEVANS RAGI RAVA Roasted to the boiled mixture. Reduce fire stir well till it mix together and cook for 3 minutes. Serve hot.
